BRETT STIMELY - Biography

A Washington State native and a highly philosophical professional performer, Brett Stimely is a hard worker who loves entertaining. He was raised for a short time in Connecticut and Minnesota, but it was while growing up in the outskirts of Seattle, attending High School, and going to see numerous productions at the Seattle Repertory Theatre, that Brett was inspired to become an entertainer. During after school hours, Brett also became a private pilot at the age of 16 and ran his own outboard motor repair business out of the home garage. At the University of Washington, Brett advanced in business marketing and dentistry and fueled his other passion for colored gem stones.

In his first on-screen role, only Brett's hands appeared in the commercial for "Skipper's Seafood 'N Chowder House" fish-n-chips. Soon after, he made his way to Zurich, Switzerland where he introduced the Fresh Start Laundry Detergent commercial campaign to German television audiences. Studying at the Rational Theatre in Munich raised his desire to dramatize. Then, with over thirty-five commercials, including Kim Top Line, Co-op and Gold Market, winning numerous awards in Europe, and with the intent of making entertaining in film and television his career, Brett re-located to Los Angeles and received training there from Harry Mastrogeorge. Soon there after, Brett made his mark in Daytime as well, playing the recurring roles of Atty. Joshua Sloane on "Sunset Beach," and the popular Dr. Jay Garvin for years on "The Bold And The Beautiful." He then played the military attaché, Colonel James Mallory, USMC in the feature film "Operation Safeguard," that was filmed solely for use by the United States military in the Middle East. Brett did his first nude scene in the series Red Shoe Diaries: Laundrymat.

Brett just wrapped filming Michael Bay’s “Transformers 3” (July 1, 2011 release) for DreamWorks SKG (Steven Spielberg) and Paramount Pictures (can not divulge his role at this time) and he currently can be seen playing President John F Kennedy in the Warner Brothers Motion Picture "Watchmen," directed by Zac Snyder (300).

Also just in the can, Eric Tozzi (Dirty Bomb Diaries) directs Brett in the SciFi short “Ray Bradbury’s Kaleidoscope” for Quixotic Productions.

Recently, he played John Edwards on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and he plays the role of Dan Wisner in the Starz original series "Party Down." He was also Robert Jones on the FX Channel's top rated show "The Shield," and he discovered the North Pole in the Discovery Channel's "Race To The Poles," as the legendary explorer Frederick Albert Cook. Brett is also the continuing spokesman for "Western Dental" and he stars in commercials for TVA “EnergyRight.com (including radio spots),” Cadbury's "Bournville Chocolate," "Miller High Life Beer," "Nevada State Bank," "Positec Power Tools," "Nature Made Vitamins," "Mazda MX-5," "Desa Lawnmowers," "Matrix Direct Insurance," "Bose Audio," "Brinks Home Security" and "ID Watchdog."

Brett is active in many organizations, including the Olive Crest Homes and Services for Abused Children, the Airport Marina Counseling Service, The Good News Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica, just to name a few. (June 1, 2010)
